Gin Kir Summer Haze

It's Happy Hour! In this episode Matthew gets lost in a Summer Haze, a riff on a recipe he introduced early this summer. Meanwhile Ben goes for style and substance with his version of Martha Stewart's (?) Pineapple Gin Kir cocktail. They also discuss childhood trauma and how to make a cocktail pretty. It's all happening on Happy Hour! Recipes below.

Summer Haze

  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1/2 oz Amaro Nonino Quintessentia
  • 1/2 oz Strawberry Syrup
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 2 Dashes Lavender Bitters
  • 1 Egg White

Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker without ice. Shake vigorously. Add ice and shake again until well-chilled. Double Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a strawberry slice and a sprig of mint.

Gin Pineapple Kir

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 3 oz Pineapple Juice
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 - 1/2 oz Creme de Casis

Pour Creme de Casis directly into the bottom of an empty collins or highball glass. In a separate mixing glass combine the gin, pineapple juice and lemon juice. Stir to combine. Fill cocktail glass with ice to the top. Slowly pour gin mixture into glass. Add straw. Stir cocktail before consuming.
